The National Cinema Centre will put into operation a four dimension (4D) project room later this month.

This is the second 4D cinema in Hanoi. Last October, the first 4D projection room opened at the Kim Dong Cinema.

The new 4D facility is built by an American firm, at the cost of VND38 billion (USD1.9 million). The American partner handed over the facility to the National Cinema Center on October 10. However, the projection room will begin serving the audience in late October, after being tested.

Nguyen Danh Duong, director of the National Cinema Center, said that the new facility will offer audiences a unique cinematic experience with its large screen of around 50 square metres, special light and surround sound systems, water sprays, smoke, mist, and pitching seats.

People with hypertension and heart problems and pregnant women are not encouraged to watch the 4D films, he added.

Each screening will last 10 to 15 minutes and ticket prices have yet to be fixed.

The director said they would not exceed VND80,000 (USD4) during weekends and different films would be screened every three to six months.
