Accordingly, the National Committee on Education and Training Reform will make its debut this March, serving as an advising group for the Government.

Dung said the plan should focus more on improving the quality of education which is a top national policy and its reform needs to meet requirements for industrialization and modernization in the context that the country is pursuing the socialist-orientated market economy and promoting global integration.

Issues tabled for discussions were a plan on renewing school curricula and textbooks beyond 2015.

Regarding the issue, PM Dung asked the scheme compiling agency to work hand in hand with the NA Committees to make the plan in line with the reality.

In addition, workshops and conferences will be held to learn from other countries’ experience in drafting textbooks to promote life-long learning and improve the national education system, he added.
