The President sent warm greetings to Vietnamese people in and out of the country, as well as foreigners working and living in Vietnam on the occasion of the Lunar New Year (Tet).

He also extended friendly sentiments from Vietnam to international friends.

He recalled that in 2015 the entire people united to overcome a lot of difficulties and challenges to gain remarkable socio-economic and cultural attainments, and defend independence and national territorial sovereignty.

These united efforts have helped maintain a stable, peaceful domestic environment and speed up international integration, enabling the country to enter the next phase of development with bright prospects, he said.

He also said the course of globalisation and ongoing international integration would offer new challenges and opportunities.

The country still has a lot to do in order to grow and protect its citizens, as done by previous generations for the betterment of the future, the President stressed.

He called on Vietnamese people to press ahead and promote their brainpower, strength, cultural traditions, patriotism and unyielding spirit to seize upcoming opportunities and surmount all hurdles. This will help them move toward prosperity, democracy, justice and civilization.

The President extended his best wishes to the people and the country.
