Of the figure, 670,015 foreigners travelled by air, 12,382 by sea and 130,610 by road.
Markets posting the growth in the nine-month period included Hong Kong
(79%), China (57.7%), the Republic of Korea (39.9%), Thailand (34.1%),
New Zealand (31.7%), Italy (31.1%), Spain (27.9%), Russia (26.5%), the
Netherland (24.4%) and Sweden (23.8%).
During the same period, the numbers of domestic tourists hit 48.8 million, getting US$12 million in total revenue.
Foreign arrivals to Vietnam up 25.7% in nine months
Foreign arrivals to Vietnam reached 813,007 in
September, bringing the total foreign travelers during the first nine
months to 7,265,380 up 25.7% against last year’s corresponding period,
reports the General Statistics Office of Vietnam (GSO).
