An avenue to honour people who have great contributions to the capital’s development has been proposed.

The idea was mentioned in a project to upgrade the Hoan Kiem Lake area jointly carried out by Hanoi authorities and French consulting firm Arep Ville.

The avenue will be located on the pavement section adjacent to Hoan Kiem Lake, running from Hoa Phong Tower to Ba Kieu Temple. It will be paved with ceramics and enamelled tiles and names of famous people who have great contributions to Hanoi like artists, scientists and researchers will be craved on. Those whose names to be appeared on the avenue will be decided by Hanoi authorities.

According to the footnote of the project, the proposed avenue by Hoan Kiem Lake is based on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

The project also includes proposals to upgrade pavements, drainage, flower gardens and green spaces as well as lightening systems around Hoan Kiem Lake. The project is being displayed at Hoan Kiem Lake Information Centre on Le Thai To Street to seek public opinion.
