During a visit to the General Department of Defense Intelligence on January 23, the government leader highlighted challenges facing Vietnam in the near future and urged the defense intelligence service to contribute more to national construction and defense.
He said defense intelligence should become a key force in developing the economy, science and technology and safeguarding national security and defense.
It is imperative to enhance the leading role
in detecting and sabotaging attempts of hostile forces and provide the
Party and the State with accurate forecast and advice to tackle arising
problems in national defence, especially amidst complicated world
situation and the rising trade protection trend, he stressed.
He also asked the intelligence force to take comprehensive measures to
improve its performance and efficiency as well as the living condition
of its staff.
