 >>  Father and son face death risk due to dangerous diseases
DTiNews readers have donated over VND72m to treat father and son in Phu Yen Province who are dealing with cancer and cerebral palsy.

Trinh Ngoc Giao and Nguyen Thi Bich Loan have had two children one year apart. Loan had to stay at home to take care of two children and Giao earns little as a labourer. The family faced more difficulties when their second son Trinh Ngoc Gia Bao was born. Giao is suffering from cancer while his son is diagnosed with sepsis and cerebral palsy.

Giao's mother was also diagnosed with cancer last year.

Loan said the family had borrowed a large amount of money to pay the hospital fees and treatment. Due to the financial difficulties, Giao had to return home for the self-treatment. Both Giao and his son may die if no timely treatment is provided.

Loan's family receives the donation

After their story was published, readers have called and visited them. Loan said, "Many people transferred the money to us and several people live overseas, like Kevin Nguyen in the US, sent us USD500."

When receiving the donation of VND72,700,000 (USD3,200) from DTiNews' readers, Loan said she was deeply grateful to everyone that helped them during this difficult time.

"Thanks to everyone that now I can be hopeful to that my husband and child can be treated and we can escape poverty," she said.
