DTiNews readers have to date donated VND150 million (USD6,818) for a three-month-old boy in the central province of Quang Nam who has to use a milk catheter for survival due to Pierre Robin syndrome.
Phan Viet Tri in Duy Xuyen District’s Duy Vinh Commune often faces milk choke which even threatens his life. So, he has to use a milk catheter. To avoid the infections, for every five to seven days, a new a milk catheter is replaced, each costing VND600,000 (USD27.22).
The mother Le Thi Mo said he wants to take him to the National Paediatrics Hospital in Hanoi for surgery, but doctors said that his health was not good enough. His must be at least one year old and weigh 10 kilos.
Meanwhile, the surgery and the treatment fees after that could cost hundreds of millions of VND.
