The Hanoi People’s Committee has proposed the council to name a 1.2-km new street in Cau Giay District after Trinh Van Bo who donated 5,147 taels of gold to the revolutionary government during the 'Golden Week’ in 1945.

In response to the 'Golden Week' launched by the revolutionary government in 1945, the family of Trinh Van Bo who is a businessman donated up to 5,147 taels of gold (6,862 ounces) equivalent to 2 million Indochinese dong to the government as the government's treasury was exhausted at that time.

In addition, Trinh Van Bo and his wife were also key members of the Golden Week campaign, who encouraged the people to donate 20 million Indochinese dong and 370kg of gold to the government.

Trinh Van Bo passed away in 1998 and was presented with many noble orders from the government and state in recognition of his significant contributions to the nation.

After the success of the August Revolution 1945, Trinh Van Bo’s house at 48 Hang Ngang Street was reserved as a working place for the revolutionary government including President Ho Chi Minh. President Ho Chi Minh compiled the Declaration of Independence on the establishment of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam in 1945 during his stay at the house.

Bo’s wife, Hoang Thi Minh Ho, passed away at the age of 104 in Hanoi on November 5 this year.
