An application which helps connect users of home appliances with repair services has just won second prize in IT category at the Vietnamese Talent Awards 2017 which was announced on November 16.

The Rada start-up group receive the second prize in IT at the Vietnamese Talent Awards 2017 on November 16

Rada app, which was first initiated by a start-up group in October 2015, was appraised for its applicability and prospects for development. The owner, Rada Joint Stock Company, which is providing home appliance consultancy and repair services, expects to develop their Uber and Grab-like app to a wider market.

After installing the app, users will be connected to the best and nearest repairmen who charge the lowest fee. Through the app, users will describe the condition of their devices and repairmen, who are Rada's partners, will give an estimate of the cost. Repairmen then will contact the customer via phone. If the repairmen arrive but do not reach an agreement with users about the solutions, the transaction will be cancelled without a fee.

Speaking at the awards ceremony, a representative of the app inventors, Ma Hoang Hai, said they were very happy that their efforts had been acknowledged.

"We've become a service provider company from an idea and a project," Hai said. "The prize will bring more encouragement and confidence for us on our way of development to develop a more useful app."

Hai said that the app was already currently available in several large cities including Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh, Da Nang and Hue and they will be rolling it out at 10 more localities in 2018. The company is also calling for investment to further develop it.
