During the awards ceremony, Le Trong Minh, editor-in-chief of the Vietnam Investment Review-the tournament's co-organiser, announced that 260 golfers participated in the tournament and they were able to raise VND1.8bn. The figure was much higher than the expected VND1.4bn and proves the tournament's credibility for philanthropists who want to help promote local education.

Golfer Nguyen Hong Tuan scored a hole-in-one and Tuan said he would donate VND30m (USD1,200) to the scholarship fund for Vietnamese pupils. The organisers also gave scholarships to four students from difficult backgrounds and commemorative medals for the sponsors.
