PM offers incense at Hung Kings' Temple

PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc and other officials visited and offered incense to Vietnam's mythical founding fathers at the Hung Kings Temple Festival on April 25.
Thousands of visitors gathered at the main yard of the Hung Kings Temple Site since 5.15 am to participate in the festival.
At 6.10 am, the parade including a procession of deities started from the main yard to Ha, Trung and Thuong temples. A squad carrying national and festival flags led the march.
At 6.50, the procession reached Thuong Temple where PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc and other officials offered incenses to the Kings.
Chairman of Phu Tho Province People's Committee, Bui Minh Chau highlighted the merits of Hung Kings and the spirits of generations of Vietnamese as well as the gratitude of the current generation.
Speaking with Dtinews, the provincial vice chairman, Ha Ke San, who is head of the Hung Kings Temple Festival 2018 said that they prepared for state leaders to pay tribute to the Hung Kings so that visitors don't have to wait long.
"Tens of thousands of visitors have flocked to the festival over the past few days to attend the festival," San said. "We have prepared to avoid serious jam as in 2016 festival."
At 7.10 am, visitors were allowed to enter the site after the ceremony was completed.
According to the festival organisers, incense offering ceremony will be held at all temples and pagodas that worship Hung Kings, their families and generals in Vietnam on April 25.
Head of the management board at the Hung Kings Temple Relic Site site, Nguyen Duy Anh said that they are expecting to receive over one million visitors today.
Hung Kings Festival will take place between April 21 and 25. The northern province of Thai Nguyen, the central province of Quang Nam and the southern provinces of Binh Duong and Kien Giang will jointly hold the festival with Phu Tho Province.
