Speaking to thousands of garment factory workers in western Phnom Penh's Sen Sok district, the prime minister said the political situation is very stable, as economy continues to grow very well.

"After the election, people still do their business activities as usual. Moreover, this year, the prices of land continue to go up," Hun Sen said.

He added that the economy-driven sectors -- garment export, agriculture, construction and real estate, and tourism -- have grown pretty good, as inflation is projected to be less than 2 percent this year.

"Overall, the health of the nation is very good," the 67-year-old prime minister said.

Twenty political parties contested in the sixth general election on July 29.

The National Election Committee (NEC) provisional results showed that Hun Sen's Cambodian People's Party (CPP) garnered 4.88 million votes, or 76.84 percent, of the total valid votes.

"This is a high rate that gives the CPP a great success," Hun Sen said.

He said the landslide victory clearly reflects the confidence of the people in the leadership of the CPP, which has led the country for nearly 40 years.

"People have a clear understanding of peace for continued development," he said. "They have strong conviction that there is only the CPP that is qualified enough to continue to maintain this."

Based on the NEC provisional results, the CPP calculated that it had won all 125 seats in the parliament. The NEC official results will be announced on Wednesday evening.

Hun Sen, who has been in power for 33 years, will continue to lead the government for another five years through the victory.

He said a new parliament and a new government will be formed on September 5 and 6, respectively.
