Three in Thai Nguyen die in cave suffocation
Three people in the northern province of Thai Nguyen have been found dead in a local cave after apparent suffocation.
The cave where the three people died
According to an official from Vo Nhai District, on October 9, Ly Van Sai, 43, detected an underground water spring in a cave in Ngoc Son Village, Than Sa Commune. He went the cave to install a pump for irrigation and then suffocated.
Following a call for help from Sai’s wife Duong Thi Mua, the two others Ly Van Minh, 51, and Ly Van Mong, 45, and Mong’s son Ly Van Mai rushed into the cave to save the victim. But, unfortunately, Minh and Mong also died due to a lack of air, while Mai managed to escape.
The bodies have now been recovered.
