Filipino sailor taken to Nha Trang for treatment

A Filipino crew member has been rescued after seriously injuring his right hand.

According to Nguyen Xuan Binh, director of Nha Trang Maritime Search and Rescue Co-ordination Centre, on December 2, the centre received a distress call from the Greek-flagged Anangel Merchant which was on the way from the central province of Ha Tinh’s Son Duong Seaport to Australia. 

   

The Filipino crew member has been rescued after seriously injuring his right hand.

The captain informed that crew member Niel Pasadas Veronilla 21, suffered severe injuries to his right hand while working, resulting in profuse bleeding.

The ship captain called for the main to be taken ashore for first aid.

Nha Trang Maritime Search and Rescue Co-ordination Centre sent a vessel to help the Greek-flagged ship.

The Filipino man was then brought ashore at around 8:30 pm the same day.

On November 28, Nha Trang Maritime Search and Rescue Co-ordination Centre also rescued a Filipino crewman on a Panamanian ship who had injured his fingers.
