According to the department, these houses were built at the core of Trang An by local households.

The department director Bui Thanh Dong said that the general planning of Trang An tourist site approved by the prime minister in 2016 does not allow the hotel and guest house construction at the core area of the heritage.

“We have always reminded the households of their violations and the Trang An management board even worked with them about the case, but they have still ignored,” Dong added.

These guest houses are not provided with operation license and fire and food safety certificates, so visitors should not select the service there to avoid risks, Dong warned.

In 2017, illegal construction on Cai Ha Mountain inside Trang An was removed. Trang An Tourism Company cut into Cai Ha Mountain and constructed a staircase leading up to Huyen Vu Peak. The staircase runs a length of over 1km with 2,000 steps and handrails.
