Filipino fishermen rescued near Binh Dinh
Two fishermen from the Philippines have been rescued while drifting off Binh Dinh.
40-year-old Matillano B. Benjie and 37-year-old Rapisa Rene said they were going out to the fishing spot with another fisherman in Philippines waters when their boat was sunk by a huge wave. Their companion is still missing while they were swept into Vietnamese waters and were rescued by Huynh Lau, captain of a local fishing boat on January 3.
Lau said he and six crew members were working when they spotted the fishermen who were about to drown.
They took care of the Filipino fishermen and brought them to shore on January 16.
Border guards in Binh Dinh Province worked with the Department of Foreign Affairs
to complete procedures for the two fishermen
