Thousands of international reporters registered for Trump-Kim summit

Around 2,600 foreign reporters have registered to cover the Trump-Kim summit which is scheduled to take place in Hanoi next week, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Among those, some 700 reporters are from South Korea and 500 are from Japan.

At a meeting about preparations for the summit on February 22, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Pham Binh Minh said that Vietnam are trying to make the best preparations for the event.

  

The Vietnam-Soviet Friendship Cultural Palace will be used as the media centre for the summit


The Vietnam-Soviet Friendship Cultural Palace in Hanoi is being upgraded to work as the media centre during the summit on February 27-28.

More than 200 booths will be set up to serve press agencies. Meanwhile, South Korea have hired a quarter of these. Each booth is 9 square metres with the rental of USD4,500. Each stall is equipped with one table, two chairs, a LCD screen, telephone lines, and an internet connection.

Workers are speeding up the facelift of the centre for the event. The work is expected to be finished by February 23.
