The 2019 Hanoi Plas Print Pack, a biennial international exhibition on the plastic, print and packaging industry, kicked off in Hanoi on April 24 with the participation of 180 exhibitors from 10 nations around the world.

The four-day event is being jointly held by the Vietnam National Trade Fair and Advertising Company, Yorkers Trade and Marketing Service Co Ltd, and the Vietnam Plastics Association.

On display across more than 400 pavilions at the event were several cutting-edge technologies and production lines of raw material. Nations with displays at the event include Taiwan, Netherlands, the Republic of Korea, Hong Kong, India, Malaysia, Japan, Singapore, China, and host nation Vietnam.

At this year’s event, the number of participating exhibitors has increased by 50 per cent from last year thanks to the northern market enjoying robust growth. The increase in interest looks promising for the development of the north’s industrial sector as well as for the nation in general.

Le Hoang Tai, deputy head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade’s Department of Trade Promotion, said this year’s event will serve as an effective trade promotion channel for Vietnamese businesses to seek partners, and expand into new countries in the region and across the world.

The exhibition will provide all these opportunities for local firms whilst encouraging further investment in the Vietnamese market.

A seminar on the domestic plastics and packaging industry will be held during the event and will be attended by leading speakers in the field.

The aim of the seminar will be to devise plans for industrial development in the context of Industry 4.0 and future Free Trade Agreements, as well as helping participants to gain a fresh insight into Vietnam’s current plastics market.

This year’s exhibition is expected to welcome more than 8,000 visitors.
