DTiNews readers have provided VND917 million (USD39,913) for a little girl who suffered from traumatic brain injury following an accident.

Little girl Tong My Nhu faced traumatic brain injury because of falling down some stairs of a hotel where her mother Le Thi Uyen Nhi was working, causing her to be unconscious two years ago.

Nhu and her mother at a hospital in HCM City where she stayed for the treatment

According to Nhi, she met a man who had a stable job and a wealthy family. They fell in love with each other and Nhi was pregnant. After that, she came to live with his family without holding a wedding.

Her husband’s family expected a nephew, but Nhi gave birth to Nhu. Then, more than one year after Nhu was born; the couple had another daughter named Tong My Quynh.

Her parents-in-law got angry and suspected that Nhu was the daughter of another man, not their son. Her husband turned to drink after the continual family pressure and a short time after that her husband wanted to divorce her.

Nhi was expelled from her husband’s family when her second daughter was just four months old. Since then, her second daughter has lived with her husband, while she has taken care of the first daughter Tong My Nhu.

The donation granted to Nhu's grandmother

After the surgery, Nhu has recovered and is now living with her grandmother. Her mother, who has remarried, has authorised Huong to take care of Nhu.

On May 17, head of Dantri/DTiNews’ representative office in HCM City, journalist Ly Thi Toan Thang granted the donation to Huong.

Huong expressed her great thanks to donors and Dantri/DTiNews after receiving the donation.
