Orphaned boy gets help from readers
Dantri/DTiNews has transferred over VND133m (USD5,700) in readers' support to help a poor orphan in Ha Nam Province.
Unfortunately, both Thang's parents died in a traffic accident on April 27.
"When his parents' ashes were brought to the hometown, Thang cried every night, asking for his mother. Then we all cried until morning," said Le Thi Tai, Thang's grandmother.
Thang's grandparents are having to take care of an ill sister with diabetes and their 80-year-old mother.
Dantri readers have donated a total VND133,520,000 to Thang. His grandparents were moved to tears upon receiving the donation.
"We really appreciate everyone's love for Thang. This is a huge amount of money and such a precious gift for our family. We've never dreamt of having such money. We'll try to raise him well. We'll deposit the money to pay for his school tuition," Tai said.
