A fire broke out at a hotel in Hanoi Old Quarter early this morning, June 17.

The incident happened at Hotel A25 on Luong Ngoc Quyen Street at around 4 am.

Eight fire engines and dozens of firefighters were sent to the scene. However, the thick smoke made it difficult to put out the blaze.

According to some witnesses, at that time, nearly 30 people, including many foreigners, were at the hotel. Many others climbed onto the rooftop and shouted for help.

Following great efforts by the fire services, the fire was brought under control around three hours later. Everyone was safely evacuated from the site.

The cause of the incident is under investigation.
