Father seeks help for terminally-ill daughter
A couple in Quang Ngai Province are calling for financial support to help save their daughter from cancer.
However, after one month, she suddenly coughed blood and had a swelling at the neck. She was diagnosed with leukaemia after her family brought her to Danang General Hospital. After May fell ill, Nhip and his wife had stopped working on the fields to bring her to hospital. They currently live on charity meals at the hospital.
Dinh Van Nhip, May's father, said, "We were shocked when we heard the news from doctors. My wife keeps crying. We haven't told her the truth yet, we only told her that she had anaemia."
Dr Le Hoang Truong said May needed to use both antibiotics and chemotherapy treatment which was not covered by health insurance. The family needs to pay VND20m a month for May's treatment or else her life will be cut short. But the family couldn't afford the fees and the money they borrowed from neighbours is running out.
