The six-floor hotel with 60 bedrooms is managed by the Defence Ministry is now located on An Duong Vuong Street.
Binh Duong Hotel to be relocated
Tran Chau, vice chairman of Binh Dinh Province People’s Committee, said that the province would pay VND32 billion (USD1.39 million) in compensation for the hotel relocation, which has also been agreed by the ministry.
Chau added that local authorities had also arranged 3,000 square metres on Nguyen Van Troi Street for the ministry to build a new hotel.
According to Binh Dinh People’s Committee Chairman Ho Quoc Dung, he worked with Defence Minister Ngo Xuan Lich on the issue. He pledged that after the hotel was removed, the land plot on An Duong Vuong Street would be used for the construction of a public park, not for other purposes.
Dung noted that the province had also planned to relocate two other coastal hotels on An Duong Vuong Streets that block the ocean view.
The beaches are open to everyone so the provincial officials have vowed to protect the public interest.
The province has approved a plan to expand Xuan Dieu Street with a total investment of VND244 billion. The project includes different facilities such as a square, a parking lot, garden, statue exhibition area and a children’s play area.
