Around 500 hectares of the forest in Danang damaged due to the fire

Around 100 people, including soldiers, were sent to the scene, and three hours later, the flames were brought under control.

The fire started on the top of the mountain, which posed a challenge for firefighters accessing the scene. The sunny weather and strong winds added to the difficulties.

Fire engines could not access the mountain top, so firefighters had to climb the cliffs to control the fire.

As a result, around 500 hectares of the acacia forest were harmed.

The incident is under investigation.

Earlier, raging blazes engulfed large sections of forests in the central provinces of Ha Tinh, Nghe An, Quang Binh, and Thua Thien-Hue.

Thousands of people were mobilised to contain the inferno, while many residents living in nearby areas had to evacuate for their own safety.

Meanwhile, the hot weather with temperatures of up to 40 degrees centigrade has resulted in more risks of fire-related difficulties.
