Da Nang hosting Vietnam Logistics Forum 2019

The Ministry of Industry and Trade coordinated with the Vietnam Economic Times Group, the Da Nang City People’s Committee, and the World Bank in Vietnam to organize the Vietnam Logistics Forum (VLF) 2019 on November 22 and 23 in central Da Nang city.

Deputy Prime Minister Vuong Dinh Hue, Minister of Industry and Trade Tran Tuan Anh, Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Nguyen Xuan Cuong, Deputy Minister of Transport Nguyen Nhat, Chairman of the Da Nang City People’s Committee Huynh Duc Tho, Country Director of the World Bank in Vietnam Ousmane Dione, and leaders from Vietnam Economic Times attended, with the latter also chairing the forum.

VLF is the largest annual event in Vietnam’s logistics industry and includes events such as a Port Survey Program, a visit to the Chu Lai Logistics Center and the Truong Hai automobile complex, workshops on logistics connecting the East-West Economic Corridor and the Sharing Economy in Logistics, and a key session with the theme “Logistics to Improve Agricultural Value”.

Also attending are more than 1,000 delegates from local and foreign enterprises and 30 international delegations along the East-West Economic Corridor, and countries in ASEAN, China and Europe, together with more than 50 national and international experts in the fields of economics, agriculture, logistics, and Industry 4.0.

Aiming to “smooth the flow of logistics”, the forum is discussing the strategic and practical issues facing Vietnam’s logistics industry in the context of the domestic and international economic landscape and the development of digital technology.

The focus is on analyzing and proposing solutions for logistics development along the East-West Economic Corridor, sharing economy models in logistics, and, specifically, identifying breakthroughs and practical solutions to promote logistics and bolster Vietnam’s agricultural value.

VLF 2019 also aims to strengthen multilateral connectivity and value chain connectivity to create a sustainable foundation to enhance the value of logistics’ contribution to GDP in the years to come.

Two signing ceremonies were held for MoUs between the Da Nang City People’s Committee and the Vietnam Logistics Business Association and a memorandum of cooperation between the Vietnam Maritime Corporation and the LEC JSC Group.
