Four restaurants by Hoi An City’s An Bang Beach have caught fire, causing a great loss.

According to Le Tan Viet, chairman of Cam An Ward, said that the incident occurred at around 2 o’clock this morning.

The initial information showed that the flames broke out at Kim Cuc seafood restaurant.

Despite local efforts to put out the fire, the strong winds caused the fire to quickly spread to the three neighbouring restaurants, so they informed authorities.

Right after that dozens of firefighters arrived at the scene and two hours later the flames were brought under control.

No deaths were reported, but there are estimated losses of around VND4 billion (USD173,913).

One restaurant was completely ruined, while the three others were partially damaged.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
