Eva Air has launched new direct flights between Taipei’s Taoyuan International Airport (TPE) and Da Nang International Airport (DAD), connecting the capital of Taiwan (China) and the tourist hub on Vietnam’s central coast.

The new route is served by Airbus A321-200 with 184 seats, including eight in business class and 176 in economy class.

One round-trip is held daily, with a flight time of some three hours. Flights depart Taipei at 9.45am and arrive in Da Nang at 11.40am, then leave at 2.10pm and land at 5.55 pm (all local times).

EVA Air also launched a Fare Family ticket package, enabling passengers to choose from three options: mileage accumulation benefits, meals, or checked luggage. When choosing the Basic Package, passengers can reserve seats and access wi-fi. The Standard Package adds comfort with pre-booking and seat upgrades. Finally, the Flexible Package helps passengers customize their flight to suit their needs, along with an ability to change flights, access wi-fi, and upgrade their seats.

According to EVA Air, the opening of the new route is part of its expansion plans to major cities in Vietnam. With its extensive flight network in the Asia-Pacific, the carrier also contributes to the development of business and travel and gives passengers more opportunities to explore attractive destinations such as Da Nang and Taipei. The new service is also expected to link travel between North America and central Vietnam, as Taipei is a popular transit point for EVA, connecting to various destinations in the US such as Los Angeles, San Francisco, Houston, Chicago, Seattle, Vancouver, Toronto, and New York.

EVA Air’s direct flights between Taipei and Da Nang will help raise the volume of travel between the two cities and offer better choices to passengers, especially at the end of the year when demand for transport rises dramatically. The new route targets not only tourists but also Vietnamese workers in Taiwan and businesspeople.

Vietnam’s third-largest city, Da Nang is famous for its stunning coastline and sandy beaches and famous nearby world heritage sites such as My Son Sanctuary and Hoi An ancient town. It’s also a popular base for visiting the inland Ba Na Hills, the beautiful Hai Van Mountain Pass, with views over Da Nang Bay and Marble Mountains, and the Golden Bridge.

According to the Da Nang Department of Tourism, in the first nine months of this year the city welcomed more than 7 million passengers, including 2.8 million international visitors, up nearly 21 per cent compared to the same period in 2018. The number of travelers to Da Nang arriving by air during this period increased 37.5 per cent, to 2.3 million.

Founded in 1989, the EVA Air Corporation, with “EVA” standing for “Evergreen Airways”, is a Taiwanese international airline based at Taoyuan International Airport near Taipei, operating passenger and dedicated cargo services to over 40 international destinations in Asia, Australia, Europe, and North America.
