Hanoi reported three more coronavirus suspects on February 20 and has put them under monitoring.


  

Three more people in Hanoi suspected of having coronavirus


According to the Hanoi Department of Health, one person is from Hanoi, one from Hai Phong and the last one is from Nghe An. All three people are being monitored at Dong Da Hospital.

Hanoi authorities have monitored a total of 2,040 people. Several of the suspected cases are from China and some others are from Vinh Phuc Province. As of February 20, 387 people remained under monitoring. 67 people have been quarantined at the City Police Hospital five among them have been released.

Hanoi has not reported any confirmed cases so far.

Hoang Duc Hanh, deputy director of Hanoi Department of Health, said the situation in China was still complicated since the numbers were not stable and the fatality rate was high. It's clear that the outbreak would further spread outside China, especially in Southeast Asian countries and Japan.

He urged localities authorities to stay vigilant and tighten preventive measures to quickly detect new cases and outbreak areas. He also advised people to keep wearing face masks when going outside as the daily activities in the city return to normal.

The coronavirus outbreak has spread to 30 countries with a total of 76,727 confirmed cases, mostly in China, as of February 21. The death toll reached 2,247 cases and 2,236 of them are in China.
