PM urges draft of new national high school exam plan
Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc emphasised that the education sector must have a suitable plan for the national high school exams during a regular meeting on April 1.
The PM also urged schools and universities to go online, recognise the online test results and cut down the curriculum. The Ministry of Education and Training must report back to the PM including plans for the national high school exam and how students can apply for their desired universities.
According to the Ministry of Education and Training, the 2019-2020 school year will end by July 15 and the national high school exam will be held from August 8 to 11. The ministry will follow the situation and make suitable adjustments.
On March 31, the ministry issued official guidelines for the second semester of 2019-2020 school year, in which teachers were asked to not hold exam for lessons that have been cut down from the curriculum. Review lessons and guidelines for the national high school exam will be issued soon for both teachers and students.
The ministry has also clarified that teachers can hold online tests or any suitable methods to test the students. The results will be recognised. Education facilities were asked to monitor and assess the students' work regularly online.
