According to the committee, the boy returned from Russia May 13 on a flight which has reported 34 virus infection cases so far. He tested negative for the virus on the first day after arriving but then his samples showed positive on May 28 and May 29. He and all the passengers have been quarantined since landing at Van Don International Airport.

The patient is now being treated at the Hai Duong Provincial Hospital for Tropical Diseases.

As of May 30, Vietnam has not recorded any community virus transmission for 44 consecutive days.

279 out of 328 patients have recovered and there has been no death reported.

There are now 7,870 people who had close contact with Covid-19 patients or returned from pandemic-hit areas being quarantined.
