Five more Covid-19 patients were discharged from hospital in Vietnam on June 5, bringing the recovery rate in the country to 93.6 percent.

Three Covid-19 patients are discharged from the Hanoi-based National Hospital for Tropical Diseases on June 5.

According to the National Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control, the five patients released today include three at the Hanoi-based National Hospital for Tropical Diseases and two at the Hai Duong Provincial Hospital for Tropical Diseases.

They will be further quarantined for another 14 days.

With the recovery of these five patients, Vietnam has successfully treated 307 out of 328 SARS-CoV-2 infection cases so far. There are 21 patients being treated at local hospitals with most of them in stable conditions.

As of Friday morning, the country reported no new Covid-19 cases, making it 50 successive days without community virus transmission, the committee said.

There are currently 8,143 people who were in close contact to a confirmed case or returned from pandemic-hit areas being monitored in centralised quarantine areas, hospitals, or at home.
