First face-mask dispenser machine in HCMC

The machine which is placed on Vuon Lai Street, Tan Phu District has attracted a lot of attention. Hoang Tuan Anh who has the idea to make face-mask dispenser said the machine has the capacity to provide 20,000-30,000 face masks a day. Currently, he has over 10,000 masks inventoried. He would try to provide 10,000-20,000 masks each time.

"We have enough masks only for August 6. We'll run the machine once every week from 10 am to 3 pm. If other people want to contribute to society, we can lend them the machine on other days," Anh said.

Anh will also give away cloth face masks that can be reused up to 30 times, and thicker face masks than can be used from five to seven days. Anh said the second wave had badly affected him so he can't afford more face masks at the time being.

Social distancing rules are ensured

Dang Thi Hong Van, chairwoman of the Tan Phu District Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee said since the success of the rice dispenser machine, the local authorities have continued to give support to individuals and organisations that work for the community's benefit.

This time, Tan Phu District authorities will send guards to maintain order, social distancing and security near the dispenser after taking a lesson with the operation of the rice dispensing machine. The Vietnam Fatherland Front in all districts will also help call for face mask donations for the project.

"On August 6, Tan Phu District Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee worked with the district Women Union to donate 2,000 face masks to the dispenser," Van said.
