Covid-19 infections on the rise in Vietnam, Hanoi confirms fifth case

The Ministry of Health on Saturday morning announced five new Covid-19 patients all related to Danang, including one from Hanoi.

The case in Hanoi, Patient 785, is a 42-year-old man living in the outlying district of Hoai Duc. He travelled to Da Nang with his family on July 16-20. Upon return to Hanoi, he displayed virus symptoms on August 3 and was taken to the National Hospital of Tropical Diseases’ branch in Dong Anh District three days later. He then tested positive for the virus on August 7.

 

The Vietnamese Ministry of Health on Saturday morning announced five fresh Covid-19 patients with all related to Danang.

This is Hanoi’s fifth Covid-19 patient since the new outbreak two weeks ago.

Patients 786 and 787 are from the central province of Quang Ngai. One is whose parents and brother have been contracted with the virus and the other came into contact with Patient 630.

Meanwhile, patients 788 and 789 are from the southern central province of Khanh Hoa who arrived in Cam Ranh Airport on August 5 from Mexico. They were quarantined upon arrival.

By Saturday morning, Vietnam recorded a total of 789 Covid-10 Covid-19 patients, including 316 from abroad. Since July 25, the pandemic has spread to 13 cities and provinces in Vietnam with up to 333 community infection cases.
