Vietnam confirms 17th Covid-19-related death
A 55-year-old man with underlying renal failure and Covid-19 died on Tuesday, taking Vietnam’s Covid-19 death toll to 17, the Ministry of Health reported on Wednesday morning.

The patient tested positive for Covid-19 on July 27. Five days later, he was moved to Hue Central Hospital for treatment. His condition worsened from August 4 with coma, oedema and consecutive high fever.
At early 3 am on Tuesday, he faced cardiac arrest and was then saved; however, at the midnight the same day, he became critical again and died after another cardiac arrest.
To date, 866 people have tested positive for Covid-19 in Vietnam, with 399 making a full recovery.
