Two more imported Covid-19 patients confirmed in Vietnam

Two Vietnamese men who recently returned from Pakistan have tested positive for SARS-CoV-2, raising the total number of Covid-19 patients in the country to 1,068, the Ministry of Health announced on Friday evening.

According to the ministry's report, the two new patients who both aged 36 returned on September 15 at the Cam Ranh International Airport in Khanh Hoa Province.

They had been quarantined upon arrival at a local facility. They are now being treated at the Cam Lam District Healthcare centre in the province.

With these new infection cases, the number of imported Covid-19 patients in Vietnam have increased to 377.

The same day, one more Covid-19 patient was released from hospital following their full recovery, raising the total number of recoveries in the country to 941. There have been 35 deaths, most of them being the elderly with serious underlying diseases.

At present,31,319, people who had close contact with Covid-19 patients or returned from virus-hit areas are being monitored at hospitals, quarantine facilities, and at home.
