Construction starts on two wind power plants in Gia Lai

Chu Prong Gia Lai Wind Power Joint Stock Company and Chu Prong Gia Lai Wind Energy Joint Stock Company started the construction of two wind power plants in the Central Highlands province of Gia Lai on September 24.

The two plants will have a capacity of 50 MW with a total investment of over VND3.6 trillion.


The two plants are expected to generate about 319.5 GWh of electricity per year, earn revenue of more than VND627.6 billion a year, and make contributions to the State budget of over VND125 billion a year.

According to a report by the Gia Lai provincial People's Committee, 67 wind power projects with a total expected capacity of 4,048.4 MW have been submitted to the competent authorities for consideration and approval; of which, 14 projects have just been approved by the Government to be added to electricity development plans for the province.
