Ninh Binh rushes to evacuate villagers ahead of new landslide
Authorities in Ninh Binh Province have evacuated dozens of households as a landslide threatens their houses.
Two days later, the authorities evacuated 10 more households to their relatives or the village common houses. 14 households living in adjacent areas were also relocated in case of emergency.
Nguyen Quoc Hung, vice chairman of Hoa Lu District People's Committee said after detecting new landslide signs, they had surveyed the fields and estimated that thousands of cubic metres of limestone will fall down.
As of October 22, the crack detected in the mountain grew bigger. The authorities are still monitoring the mountain and have invited consultants to work on the case.
