Four more returnees from France test positive for coronavirus

Four Vietnamese people who recently returned from France have tested positive for SARS-CoV-2, raising the total number of Covid-19 patients in the country to 1,177, the Ministry of Health announced on Thursday evening.

According to the ministry's report, the new patients included one woman and three men aged between 25-59 who arrived at Tan Son Nhat International Airport in Ho Chi Minh City on October 21.

They were sent to a quarantine area in Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province upon arrival and tested positive for coronavirus on October 28 after having fever.

The patients are now being treated at Long Dien Healthcare Centre.

Earlier, seven other people who boarded the same flight had been confirmed positive for coronavirus.

With these new infection cases, the number of imported Covid-19 patients in Vietnam has increased to 486.

As of 6 pm on October 29, a total of 1,062 Covid-19 patients had recovered and been discharged from hospital. There have been 35 deaths, most of them being the elderly with serious underlying diseases.

The country has gone 57 days without reporting any new case in the community.

At present,14,216 people who had close contact with Covid-19 patients or returned from virus-hit areas are being monitored at hospitals, quarantine facilities, and at home.
