Three more imported Covid-19 patients confirmed on October 31

Three Vietnamese women who recently returned from the UAE and Japan have tested positive for SARS-CoV-2, raising the total number of Covid-19 patients in the country to 1,180, the Ministry of Health announced on Saturday evening.

According to the ministry's report, one of the new patients is a 27-year-old woman who returned from the UAE at Nha Trang International Airport in Khanh Hoa Province on October 29.


She was sent to quarantine at Khanh Hoa Provincial General Hospital upon arrival and tested positive for coronavirus on October 30. The patient is now being treated at the hospital.

The two other patients aged 21 and 24 returned from Japan on October 29 and were sent to a quarantine area in Danang City upon arrival.They both tested positive for coronavirus on October 30 and are now being treated at a hospital in Danang City.

With these new infection cases, the number of imported Covid-19 patients in Vietnam has increased to 489.

As of 6 pm on October 31, a total of 1,062 Covid-19 patients had recovered and been discharged from hospital. There have been 35 deaths, most of them being the elderly with serious underlying diseases.

The country has gone 59 days without reporting any new case in the community.

At present,14,713 people who had close contact with Covid-19 patients or returned from virus-hit areas are being monitored at hospitals, quarantine facilities, and at home.
