More cold snaps to chill northern region in December

The northern region of Vietnam has been forecasted to see 5-7 cold spells this month, according to the National Centre for Hydrometeorology Forecasting.

A cold snap is hitting the northern region, causing temperatures to sharply drop. The weather would last until this weekend with the temperature ranging from 13-17 degrees centigrade. Some mountainous areas would face temperatures of below 10 degrees centigrade.

On December 9-10, another strong cold wave would affect the north and northern central region of Vietnam, bringing light rain.

The north’s average temperature this month would be 0.5-1 degrees centigrade lower than that of many previous years.

The cold weather in the north would concentrate from late December to February next year, particularly in mountainous localities.
