Online game providers in Vietnam will be required to restrict online gamers to just three hours a day of game-play.

The Ministry of Information and Communications is compiling a draft decree on the tighter control of online gaming to be submitted to the Government.

Under the draft decree, a player will not be permitted to use game services of individual providers for more than three hours per day.

The game providers are not allowed to install servers in foreign countries while offering services for Vietnamese users. They must be responsible for warning players of the possible bad affect gaming could have on their health.

According to the draft decree, online game shops are only allowed to operate from 8am to 11pm.

Players will be compelled to provide their personal information when registering to play.

The content of online games must be approved by the Ministry of Information and Communications. Games must not include violent and pornographic details.
