Bodies of three Vietnamese victims of flight MH17 identified

The bodies of a Vietnamese woman and her two children killed in the MH17 disaster have been identified in the Netherlands, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The victims, Nguyen Ngoc Minh Nguyen, 37, her daughter Dang Minh Chau, 17 and son Dang Quoc Duy, 13, were all born in Vietnam, but had moved to the Netherlands.

Le Hai Binh, spokesperson for the Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said that the ministry has asked the Vietnamese Embassy in the Netherlands to cooperate with Dutch agencies in the legal procedures for the victims' bodies to be repatriated.

Minh and her children lived in Delft, about 60km from Amsterdam. They were returning to Hanoi for the summer holiday when flight MH17 was shot down in the Ukraine on July 17. The crash caused 298 deaths. To date, there has been no final ruling as to the exact cause of the incident.
