One fisherman killed, another injured in boat collision
A fisherman was killed and another injured after their boat was sunken by a foreign cargo ship in the southern coastal province of Binh Dinh on Monday.
The Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue of Binh Dinh Province told the media on Monday evening that the fish boat No. BĐ 93241 TS carrying 15 crew members on board was sunken by a foreign cargo ship named Mariana, No. IMO 86176177 earlier that day.
One of the crew, Vo Van Canh, 49, died and another, Nguyen Hung Sang, 31, was seriously injured.
The committee has asked local coast guards and relevant agencies to carry out rescue and investigation work.
"The injured crew man has been taken by another fishing board to shore for medical treatment," the committee said. "The dead and other 13 crew are on the foreign cargo ship."
