Woman experiences tragic family traffic accidents
Only 50 days after her daughter’s death, a poor woman in the northern province of Ha Nam is now having to nurse her husband after a near fatal accident.
Giap Thi Nguyet’s first husband died many years ago and they had a daughter who was taken care of by her parents-in-law since Nguyet decided to remarry. Her daughter was hit by a motorbike at the end of last year and died.
And just 50 days after that, her husband Nguyen Van Sang was involved in a train accident. He had to stay at Viet Duc Hospital for the long treatment, but his condition has not improved due to serious injuries.
Due to the family’s financial difficulties, Sang has been brought home. Meanwhile, Nguyet has shown some signs of mental problems. Sometimes, she does not say anything all day but just cries. Sometimes, she goes to the chairman of the village and speaks nonsense that no one can understand.
The family burden has now put on her shoulders when she has to take care of two children, one aged four and the other 20 months old. She has sold everything valuable in her house to cover the treatment fees for her husband.
Local authorities have called donations to support Nguyet’s family.
