At a regular press conference on Thursday, Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Lê Thị Thu Hằng said that during the visit, Vietnam and Hungary would seek ways to step up bilateral co-operation in economy, trade, investment, science-technology, education-training, healthcare, environment, security and defence.

PM Viktor will pay courtesy calls to Party General Secretary Nguyễn Phú Trọng and President Trần Đại Quang, hold talks with Prime Minister Nguyễn Xuân Phúc. He will also meet Chairwoman of the National Assembly, Nguyễn Thị Kim Ngân, and attend a Vietnam-Hungary Business Forum, Hằng said.

Vietnam and Hungary established diplomatic relations in 1950.
