Hanoi-Music Concert by “Indian Navy Brass Band”

Hanoi-Art Exhibition “Le Sourire de la Mutation”

L’Espace, 24 Trang Tien Street
Featuring a poetic perspective of Vietnam in its metamorphosis. The three artists coming from three different countries – France, Belgium and Vietnam – explore the theme of the changes in urban space through different perspectives: visual, dance and installation art. The scenery of Vietnam’s metropolitan cities is illustrated in Truong Minh Thy Nguyen’s mural. The sun jacket covered ladies on motorbikes become the muses for Emmanuelle Vincent’s dance piece. And objects, they dangle between fantasies and traditions in the installation artwork of Pierre Larauza.
This exhibition is within the framework of the Dance Festival “Europe Meets Asia in Contemporary Dance” 2017.

Hanoi- Solo Exhibition “Project Habit/At” by Ruchika Wason Singh

A solo exhibition by Indian artist Ruchika Wason Singh who has taken a new approach: accommodation and migration – some of the biggest problems (in the world) nowadays. Instead of portraying scenes where people sit in crowded places in buildings, Singh takes a look inside each person living in metropolitan area. Behind the modern and flashy lights of cities, the symbol of wealth and prosperity which is frequently advertised in the media, it is the problems of fitting in, the complexities of immigration/ migration, the separation of public space and the inequality between social groups. Rather than feeling happy for having met all the basic needs (in life), people tend to feel depressed and crowded in artificial places and even in the presence of mankind.

Hanoi- Exhibition “Vietnam in Cyanotype: Batch 1” by Julie Vola

A selection of some of Julie Vola’s favorite portraits of Vietnam and its people. They come from more than a half-decade exploring Vietnam through the lens of her camera, on assignment, as a traveller and as a resident of the country.
Born in the South of France in 1983, Julie Vola is currently working as the Photo editor for Word Vietnam. She arrived in Hanoi 7 years ago in search of her own family’s past, after inheriting her grandfather’s personal photographs from his life in Hanoi.

Before Midnight is the third in the Before trilogy featuring two characters, following Before Sunrise (1995) and Before Sunset (2004). It was directed by Richard Linklater and stars Ethan Hawke and Julie Delpy. Co-written by Linklater, Hawke and Delpy, the film picks up the story nine years after the events of Before Sunset; Jesse (Hawke) and Céline (Delpy) spend a summer vacation together in Greece.
Language: English/Greek/French with Vietnamese subtitles
• The film screening is for educational purpose and fundraising for Young Cinema Fund of TPD.
• Donation (at the door): 20,000 VND/audience.

Gamuda City, near the Yen So Park, Hoang Mai District
A large-scale festival to promote vegetarian culture, express gratitude to parents and mark Mother’s Day.
Featuring 50 vegetarian restaurants and organic food stores from Hanoi and neighbouring cities. Several experts will share with participants information on healthy eating as a vegetarian.
A painting exhibition reflecting the theme of a mother’s love will also be held. Several solemn ceremonies are also planned as expression for children’s respect of parents, including children washing parents’ feet.

Featuring over 70 exhibitors and performers from Thailand who introduce music from Sakon Nakhon Province, modern and traditional Thai performance by Sbunnga Dance Troupe from Chiang Mai Province, Mini Concert by the Thai Popular Singers (Palaphol Pholkongseng and Bell Supol), Muaythai boxing, Thai cooking demonstration by Thai food experts and lucky draw.
