The airline was also recently recertified for the Air Operator Certificate (AOC) from the Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand (CAAT). Bestowed upon the airline by Transport Minister Arkhom Termpittayapaisit, the new certificate is in line with International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) standards.

“We believe the recertification will further reassure the confidence of travelers across the globe in our services and the Thai airline industry as well,” said Ms. Nguyen Thi Thuy Binh, CEO of Thai Vietjet.

She added that the new flight from Bangkok to Da Lat will be launched just prior to December’s Da Lat International Flower Festival. “I am delighted that people from these two countries can now enjoy their neighboring country even more through our expanding flight network,” she said.

“Thai Vietjet is the 12th carrier to pass the recertification process since CAAT started to recertify the AOC for airlines,” said Thai Transport Minister Arkhom Termpittayapaisit. “I have witnessed the airline’s dedication to preparing and improving itself to successfully pass the overall operational standards of ICAO. The new AOC is a remarkable milestone for the carrier in further proving its safety and services as it spreads its wings and continues to fly further and higher on this journey of sustainable development.”

Airbus A320 aircraft will carry passengers on four return flights each week on the new Bangkok-Da Lat route, flying every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday. Flights depart at 10.45am from Bangkok and return at 12.45pm from Da Lat, with a flight time of one hour and 45 minutes. One-way fares start at only THB 99 ($3) (excluding taxes and charges). Tickets are now available at www.vietjetair.com.

Da Lat is the capital of Lam Dong province in the central highlands and is 500 meters above sea level. Boasting thick pine forests and verdant valleys of postcard beauty as well charming old French villas, beautiful waterfalls, and gorgeous lakes, the city has become one of the most popular destinations in Vietnam and the region.

Thai Vietjet and the Vietjet Group now operate six direct flights between Thailand and Vietnam, including Bangkok to Hanoi / Hai Phong / Ho Chi Minh City and Da Lat and Phuket / Chiang Mai to Ho Chi Minh City.
