Prime minister praises Vietnamese Talent Awards

Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc has praised the Vietnamese Talent Awards for its study promotion effort and achievements.

On November 16, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc presented the first prize in Information and Technology to Duy Tan University for the human body 3D simulator which creates a detailed human body for teachers, students and researchers in the health sector.

He emphasised and quoted Than Nhan Trung, a scholar and chamberlain under Emperor Le Thanh Tong in 15th century, that "Talented people are the unique essence of a nation" and that no one can deny that training talented human resource is an urgent task.

The Vietnamese Talent Awards was initiated by the Vietnam Association for Promoting Education to find talented people and innovative work that have huge potential to have an impact on daily lives. After 13 years, thousands of young people and innovators have participated, ranging from 80 years old to others still at school.

"It can be said that the awards have started a movement to encourage people to learn at any age, anytime and everywhere," Phuc said.

He also praised the Vietnam Association for Promoting Education and other organisers, especially when they made this year's theme to be innovative technology, smart connection based on the government's directives to prepare for the so-called fourth industrial revolution and start-up businesses.

On the Vietnamese government's behalf, he congratulated the winners and appreciated the fact that the awards focus on information and technology, sciences and technologies, medicine, and the environment.

Vietnam had been able to meet all the socio-economic goals and held the APEC 2017 summit. He said Vietnam was on the right track thanks to the efforts of the public, business community and the government. The government is building a modern and transparent system and Vietnam is having various developing opportunities. According to PM Phuc, learning and innovation are going hand in hand with artificial intelligence and cloud computing which could propel socio-economic breakthrough.

At the ceremony, Phuc called on young people to keep on studying because a creative and studious environment was ideal for the country's development and to create a modern and transparent government.

"I believe that the Vietnamese Talent Awards will continue to honour people in all fields, and promoting start-ups, and the Vietnam Association for Promoting Education will always lead the study promotion movement," he said.

In advance of Vietnamese Teachers' Day on November 20, he sent the best wishes to all teachers to raise more talent for the country.
