The Paradise Papers were published on the offshoreleaks.icij.org website on which the Panama Papers were published last year.

About 14 firms in Vietnam have headquarters in the British Virgin Islands, 11 firms in Cayman and seven are in Panama, Bahamas and Cook Islands, all of which are considered tax havens due to low tax rates and easy procedures to set up companies.

Some of the most notable names found are Furama International Hoteliers Limited and Best City Finance companies owned by Nguyen Thi Phuong Thao, director of Vietjet Air. Several companies such as the Penwood International Inc. have also been named in the Panama Papers last year.

The paper also exposed 214 individuals, 23 middle parties and 205 addresses in Vietnam.

Several well-known businessmen in Vietnam named in the list include Don Lam, Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder VinaCapital, Louis Nguyen, Chairman and CEO of Saigon Asset Management, and Quang Hien - Vu, director of AC Housing Development.
